Eastern Shore Region

Located roughly 45 minutes east of downtown Halifax, this nature-filled region is known for its scenery, surfing culture, beaches, wildlife and outdoor adventure.

Halifax’s Eastern Shore is made up of many unique coastal communities and working fishing villages. It is known for its scenic natural environment, plentiful opportunities for outdoor adventure and excellent bird watching.

It’s main attractions are the popular beaches (we recommend surf lessons!), hiking trails, Fisherman’s Cove, Memory Lane Heritage Village, the 100 Wild Islands, and provincial parks.

There is also a growing number of Bed and Breakfasts, cabins, lodges, cottages and inns, offering a unique and cozy selection of accommodations outside of the downtown core.
