10 Things To Do in Halifax This June

X

June in Halifax is the city fully waking up. It's the month when patios pop up on every corner, festivals spill out across every neighbourhood, and when the ocean reminds you exactly why you chose to be here. Whether you're watching adrenaline-fueled racing through the harbour, exploring what it takes to live in space, or catching live music under the summer sky, here are 10 ways to make the most of June in Halifax.

Great for families

1. Dive into Ocean Week and fall in love with the coast all over again

Ocean Week is an annual celebration of everything that makes our oceans worth protecting, and Halifax goes all-in. From guided coastal hikes and sea kayaking by day or moonlight, to beach cleanups, scuba lessons, and live painting with Argyle Fine Art, there’s no shortage of ways to connect with the water this week. Whether you’re an ocean enthusiast or just ocean-curious, this is your invitation to get outside and engage.

We’ve teamed up with the Nature Conservancy of Canada to give visitors a way to give something back to the land and seascapes that brought them here. Our new carbon footprint calculator lets you understand the impact of your trip – and if you’re moved to, contribute directly to conservation efforts in the province.

Come see it for yourself, then help us keep it this way. Try the carbon footprint calculator to understand the environmental impact of your trip to Halifax, and discover all the ways you can travel thoughtfully around the region.

It’s no secret that the Eastern Shore’s cold, clear waters yield some of the best seafood in Canada, and even across the globe. Bring the whole family and participate in fun activities and skills demonstrations with paint-your-own-buoy sessions, dory rides, live music, and more.

If you’re in the mood for a casual night of local flavour, gather around the table at Lupin’s Neighbourhood Night, a social evening centred around a family-style feast that celebrates the terroir of the Eastern Shore.
