Summer and beaches go together like... well, Halifax and coastal adventures. But if you visit the city in fall or winter, dont write the beach off! Halifaxs beaches are a perfect match for your conscious travel ethos and are wonderful places to visit even in cooler weather. So, grab a cozy sweater and maybe throw on a scarf.

Lets explore a few beaches that are calling for a fall or winter adventure.

Crystal Crescent Beach

Peggy's Cove Coastal Region

Just past Sambro, Crystal Crescent Beach features three white sand beaches that are dog friendly. A highlight in any season is the 10 km Pennant Point Trail, which begins at the beach and offers stunning ocean views and rugged terrain ideal for hiking and birdwatching. In winter, the snow-covered landscape and icy formations enhance the beauty of this substantial hike.

On your way there, its become tradition to stop at Pavia Gallery in Herring Cove for a hot espresso, a pastry, grilled panini, or soup. Keep those hands warm so you can capture the breathtaking scenery along your hike!
