If you’ve been dreaming of a church wedding, look no further! Many religious venues in Halifax welcome same-sex weddings.
For a Christian wedding, simply enter Halifax, Nova Scotia at the following website to find a church, then follow up with your chosen church by checking out their website, visit their congregation, and contact the pastor to learn more about the church’s policies.

Hotels
A hotel can be the ideal venue for couples looking for a beautiful event space with the convenience of having one location for the ceremony, reception, and honeymoon suite. On top of that, hotels offer a variety of packages that can ease your day-of worry.
- Cambridge Suites Hotel:Located in Downtown Halifax, this is a Rainbow Registered Hotel that has availability for small and micro weddings, with room up to 120 people. Learn more about this LGBT+ friendly space.
- The Atlantica Hotel: Choose from more than 9,000 square feet of tastefully appointed, flexible m wedding space. This hotel also has experience hosting many LGBT+ and queer events such as Bear Ball.
- Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel: This waterfront hotel as over 23,527 of square feet and can accommodate up to 1,000 people! There are also smaller rooms and a patio for a more intimate or unique space. This hotel is also part of the Marriott brand which is an LGBT-friendly empire!
- Lord Nelson Hotels & Suites: With elegant style and historic charm, 11 banquet rooms, and proximity to the Halifax Public Gardens, this spot has hosted celebrations since its opening in 1928. It also has experience hosting LGBT+ friendly events and weddings, as seen in the photo below.

Restaurant Venues
If something a bit more unique is more your style, there are tons of options in downtown Halifax to make your wedding day even more special. Here are a few of our favourite settings, guaranteed to impress your guests:
- The Garden Halifax: This gorgeous, high ceiling restaurant is filled with character and can help you curate your ideal wedding. With a variety of rooms with different sizes, beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, seating options and arrangements and so much more, it's a great place to consider for your wedding. This also are LGBT+ and queer friendly, as they have experience hosting live dinner comedy drag shows.

- Bar Sofia: This new Latin-inspired restaurant on the Halifax Waterfront features a colourful space and welcoming energy. With indoor and outdoor seating options (for summer months) this venue can accommodate 75-150. This also are LGBT+ and queer friendly, as they recently started hosting Drag Brunch.
- Lot Six Bar and Restaurant: Located in the heart of Downtown Halifax's Entertainment District, this modern venue features a large glass atrium sprinkled with warm lighting. This is your one stop shop venue, where you can have both the ceremony and reception held in the space. They also have experience hosting LGBT+ weddings, as you can see here!
- The Lower Deck: Looking for a relaxed vibe mixed with classic Maritime hospitality? Look no further than The Lower Deck. The Tap Room can be found on their third floor and is a multi-use venue that can accommodate groups from 20-200 people! Just ask local LGBT+ influencers Allie and Sam who had their wedding reception at this venue :)
