The 2023 North American Indigenous Games is the largest multi-sport and cultural event to be hosted in Atlantic Canada. There are 16 different sports with 3 traditional Indigenous sports including Canoe/Kayak, Lacrosse, and Archery. The three traditional sports will have a special opening ceremony to begin each event.
The 2023 North American Indigenous Games will take place on Mi’kmaw territory, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.
