The Africville Museum is located on the northern shore of the Halifax Harbour, in a replica of the church that was once the heart of the Africville, a thriving African Nova Scotian community.
The Africville Museum invites visitors to walk through the history of Africville, from a thriving village to the community’s dislocation. Rich in photographs, artifacts and anecdotes, the exhibits demonstrate the efforts of the community to maintain their livelihoods and to gain recognition of the injustice.
