My name is Ryan Shay and I work with Independent Living Nova Scotia (ILNS) as one of this year’s Summer Events Co-Coordinators. The Independent Living (IL) movement allows persons living with disabilities to overcome social and environmental barriers. ILNS is a non-profit organization that aims to help persons with disabilities live and thrive independently in their community. One of our annual summer events is the Art of Disability Festival which showcases artists living with disabilities.
The last in-person festival we held had around 30 vendors with almost 500 attendees. With a social media outreach of around 2000 people and a monthly bulletin that reaches approximately 500 subscribers.
We want you to help us celebrate 10 years of making a difference in our community and help spread the word about our festival on your event board. This would be greatly appreciated since ILNS is a non-profit organization and any form of advertising or public announcement helps! Below would be the post we would like to share if possible.
“Join Independent Living Nova Scotia (ILNS) as we celebrate our 10th Annual Art of Disability Festival in-person with online elements! Our in-person festival will be held on Sunday, August 14, from 12:00-4:00 P.M. at the Kenneth C. Rowe Hall in Pier 21. Leading up to the in-person Festival we will have online events and our virtual Artist Catalogue available on our website. All events are FREE and open to the public. For more information or to register for online events you can visit our website at ilns.ca or email firstname.lastname@example.org.”
Looking forward to hearing back or seeing our event posted on your calendar. Once again we would greatly appreciate your support of our event.
