What to Do Here

Begin at the perfume wall, where one of the Atelier’s expert alchemists will introduce you to The 7 Virtues fragrances and explain the notes and stories behind them. Spray the scents onto labelled blotters, explore different combinations, and select your favourites. 

Using pipettes, you’ll blend your chosen fragrances into a new bottle and create a formula that feels right to you. The perfumes are made with sustainably sourced ingredients and are vegan and cruelty-free. 

Once your signature scent is complete, name it and add a custom label to the bottle. Finish by decorating the box with stickers inspired by the fragrance notes, then take home your personalized 50 ml bottle of perfume.

How to get there

• Paid parking is available at Queen’s Marque and on nearby streets. You can also get there by public transit; the Halifax Ferry Terminal is just a short walk away. 

Tickets & booking

• Walk-ins are accepted when space permits, but booking ahead is encouraged. Appointments last approximately 45 minutes. 
• Private sessions are also available for larger groups, celebrations, and team-building events. These sessions last 90 minutes. 

Age recommendations

• All ages are welcome, including children, but everyone attending must participate in the perfume-making experience. 

Food & drink

• Complimentary drinks are offered during select sessions, including afternoon tea on Sundays and mocktails on Wednesday evenings. Private events include refreshments as well. 
• Avoid bringing hot food or anything with a strong scent, as it may interfere with the perfume-making experience. 

Good to know before you go

• The Atelier is a small space with limited seating. From May to September, seating is reserved for participants. During the rest of the year, contact the Atelier on the day of your visit to ask if there is space for a non-participating guest to accompany you. 
• Arrive on time to make the most of your appointment. If you are running late, contact the Atelier, as another booking may follow your session.

After creating your perfume, take a walk along the Halifax Waterfront. Or enjoy a meal at Queen’s Marque, with restaurants like Bar Sofia, Drift, ToriDori, and Salt + Ash to choose from.
