7. Learn about and commemorate the roots, history, family traditions, and narratives of people of African descent during African Heritage Month

Nova Scotia has 52 historic African Nova Scotian communities with a long, deep and complex history dating back over 200 years. African Heritage Month is another opportunity to celebrate the culture, legacy, achievements and contributions of people of African descent – past and present.

Celebrate the rich culture of people of African descent by attending events, participating in local activities, and supporting Black-owned businesses throughout the month of February and beyond.
