5 Kid-Friendly Halifax Restaurants With Reviews to Back It Up

Looking for somewhere great to eat in Halifax that’ll satisfy adult taste buds and keep the kids happy?

We’ve scoured the reviews so you don’t have to; here are 5 kid-friendly Halifax restaurants, with the TripAdvisor reviews to back it up!

1 – Bluenose II Restaurant

1824 Hollis Street, Downtown Halifax

Ate here twice in a 4 day visit!

“I travelled recently with my husband 2 1/2 year old and we ended up going to this place twice in our visits for a few different reasons. It was super close to our hotel so we could walk there easily, the restaurants also has mostly booths which I loved and we had a great area to the side where we could park the stroller.

Staff were super nice and really good with our son. I ordered the breakfast the one morning and the full lobster the next time which was well worth it!The [next] time we went we ordered a kids meal for our son which was only $5.00 and came with a lot of food so well worth it. My husband ordered the fish cakes and the first and chips the second time.”

2 – Elements on Hollis

1181 Hollis Street, Halifax (in The Westin Nova Scotian)

“I have been at the brunch at the Westin before and it was good but it’s been a while so figured we would give it a try again.

WOW!! Is all I can say. When approaching the restaurant you walk through a world of different smells and sites. First Canada for some spectacular roast beef hand carved and make your own macaroni or mashed potatoes. Then to Japan for some great sushi ( pieces are a little on the big side). Finally a stop in India for butter chicken, chick pea Marsala, Briyana rice (so good I had to have seconds). All this and still the option to have fresh waffles, omelettes and all the breakfast fixings.

What? Still need more. The kids could not stop eating the desserts especially the chocolate fountain.

Well done Elements on Hollis!!! This was a birthday breakfast for my youngest daughter and she says she wants to return here next year. I don’t think I can wait that long so we might need to return later this month for my birthday.”

4 – Piatto Pizzeria + Enoteca

1299 Hollis Street, Halifax

Exceptional pizza!

“This restaurant may have some of the best if not THE best pizza in town. The atmosphere is great, for couples, kids, groups, friends, etc. Service was good too!

There’s a bar like sitting area that kids could watch them toss the pizza. I will return! Only complaint may be that they had no gelato and would benefit from a bigger wine list!

5 – 2 Doors Down

1533 Barrington Street, Halifax

“We dined at Two Doors Down this evening with our two kids – 10 and 8 years old. Steve was our server – exceptionally knowledgeable about both the food and drink options.

We loved the good and had a fantastic local Chardonnay. Amazing. Definitely dine here if you can.”
