On Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm, Downtown Halifax will celebrate the 29th annual Nova Scotia Power Holiday Parade of Lights, presented by Eastlink and hosted by the Holiday Parade of Lights Society. This beloved event draws tens of thousands of spectators eager to experience the sights and sounds of this highly anticipated kickoff to the holiday season. Santa will make a special appearance to bring the celebration to a joyful close, delighting everyone with his festive spirit.

Families from across the region will gather in Halifax’s vibrant downtown, filling the streets and shopping districts to enjoy a magical procession of floats from community groups and corporate partners. The parade also highlights important charitable initiatives, including MOVE 100’s Christmas Toy Drive in partnership with Canadian Tire and Virgin Radio’s food drive supporting Feed Nova Scotia. Spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, packaged toys, or cash donations, which will be collected along the parade route to assist those in need this holiday season.
