Halifax is located on Mi’kmaw territory, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land. Historically, a land acknowledgment is a traditional practice shared amongst Indigenous groups to recognize the Indigenous land and territory they are visiting. Today a land acknowledgement remains a way to express one’s gratitude to the Indigenous people for being stewards of the land that we live and work on.
Halifax Brings the Energy. Halifax is built for big moments. From national celebrations to world-class festivals, the city knows how to deliver events that connect and inspire. Organizers value Halifax’s proven record, reliable infrastructure, and responsive partners who collaborate from planning to production. Big enough to deliver scale and small enough to stay personal, Halifax brings energy, expertise, and heart to every event it hosts.
Team Halifax
In Halifax, big events are a shared effort. Partners across tourism, government, venues, hotels, and production work side-by-side to make things happen – fast, coordinated, and professional. When you plan here, you’re not just booking a city, you’re backed by a team that shows up, solves problems, and delivers together.

Compact & Connected
Halifax makes big events feel effortless. The downtown core brings venues, hotels, restaurants, and waterfront spaces together within a walkable footprint, keeping logistics simple and the atmosphere vibrant. For organizers, that means smoother operations and a city that feels naturally built for connection and celebration. Beyond downtown, rural and coastal settings add flexibility and character – open fields, beaches, historic sites, and parkland – giving organizers the freedom to stage unforgettable experiences in every corner of the municipality.

An Audience That Shows Up
Halifax is Atlantic Canada’s gathering place. With a metro population of more than 500,000 and a regional audience that travels from across the Maritimes, major events here draw attention and deliver results. Crowds are enthusiastic, loyal, and ready to engage – they fill venues, support local businesses, and bring the energy that turns an event into an experience.

Venues That Fit the Vision
Halifax offers an impressive range of venues for every kind of experience – open-air waterfront spaces, urban parks, arenas, theatres, and historic halls. The city’s operators are adaptable, professional, and experienced in hosting everything from major festivals to high-profile national broadcasts. Whatever the scale, you’ll find a space – and a team – that fits the vision.

Volunteers
Halifax’s people are its heartbeat. Our volunteers bring energy, skill, and reliability that organizers notice and remember. They’re the first to arrive, the last to leave, and the reason events run smoothly. When an event comes to Halifax, it doesn’t just get a workforce, it gains a community that takes pride in making every moment count.

Getting Here & Staying Here
Halifax is closer than you think. Halifax Stanfield International Airport is Atlantic Canada’s major hub, offering direct service to key North American and European cities. Once you land, downtown and the city’s main venues are less than 30 minutes away. With more than 199 hotels, including 5-star and boutique options, plus a celebrated culinary scene and nightlife steps from the action, staying here is as easy as getting here.

Big Moments Feel Bigger
Halifax knows how to build momentum. Major events here benefit from strong community engagement, coordinated marketing, and a destination platform that amplifies reach across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Media, businesses, and local audiences get behind what’s happening, helping each event cut through and gain visibility that lasts long after it ends.
