1 – Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market
Location: Halifax Seaport District – 1209 Marginal Road, Halifax
Market Hours
The Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market is the most popular of all the Halifax markets, with the largest selection of vendors.
Located right on the waterfront with a beautiful rooftop patio, it’s no wonder people make a Saturday morning tradition out of heading to the market for breakfast and enjoying the view.

2 – Halifax Brewery Farmers’ Market
Location: 312-1496 Lower Water Street, Halifax
Market Hours
The Halifax Brewery Farmers’ Market is the original Halifax market.
Housed in the Alexander Keith’s Brewery building on Lower Water Street, this market stretches through hallways and down through the lobby area of the Keith’s Brewery, so there’s always something lovely to see (and taste, and smell!).

3 – Alderney Landing Farmers’ Market
Location: Alderney Landing – 2 Octerloney Street, Dartmouth
Market Hours
The Alderney Landing Farmers’ Market has become a bustling market with PLENTY of Saturday regulars, right on the Dartmouth waterfront.
Full of ready-to-eat foods, freshly baked bread, herbs and homemade preserves, we’re just saying, you’re going to want to make sure to bring a big basket or bag to haul it all home!

4 – Novalea Farmers’ Market
Location: 3540 Novalea Drive, North End Halifax
(located in Dina’s Sourdough in the same location during the winter months!)
The Novalea Farmers’ Market is a seasonal, outdoor, Saturday mornings farmers’ market in the parking lot at the Novalea Centre, just behind Lawton’s at the corner of Duffus & Novalea in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Expect loads of produce, excellent prepacked meals, baked goods, and first rate coffee!

5 – Musquodoboit Harbour Farmers’ Market
Location: 67 Park Road, Eastern Shore Community Centre
Market Hours
Offering everything from handmade woodwork, to fresh local vegetables and baked goods, the market in Musquodoboit Harbour has a Nova Scotian downhome feel.
About a 30 minute drive from downtown Halifax, the community of Musquodoboit Harbour hosts a small but mighty market in their community center every Sunday.
I grabbed a couple of Bakehouse Cheese rolls from Dobbit Bakehouse and took the drive to Martinique Beach and had a snack on the white sands.

6 – The Vegetorium – Fall River
Location: 2900 Highway 2, Fall River
Market Hours
The Vegetorium is a one-stop-shop for free range eggs, vegetables, locally-roasted coffee and more. Make the drive out to the beautiful area and you won’t be disappointed – by the views or the food!

7 – Tantallon Village Farmers Market
Location: 5209 St. Margaret’s Bay Road – Redmond’s Shopping Plaza, Upper Tantallon
Market Hours
The Tantallon Village Farmers Market is a real community affair, giving those that live in the area not only a place to support their local farmers and craftspeople, but also to connect with their neighbours.
