Note: they’re listed in no particular order – we couldn’t rank them, that’s like choosing a favourite child!
1 – Kitsune Food Co.
4L5, 5710 Young St. – North End Halifax
Kitsune Food Co. creates beautiful, traditional Japanese dishes, all made from scratch. It’s located in a little, unassuming spot with just 4 seats at a bar, so the idea is come in, pick up your delicious grab and go lunch, and head out to enjoy!

2 – Wasabi House
6403 Quinpool Road – West End Halifax
Wasabi House is a mainstay of the Halifax sushi scene and a beloved favourite among locals.
Located on the corner of Quinpool Road and Oxford Street, the restaurant is always packed with people eager to dine on delicious deals. Their success has even led to a second location in Sackville.

3 – Roll it Up Sushi
1995 Brunswick Street – Downtown Halifax
Brightly coloured and cozy, this little sushi spot, located in the rapidly-developing neighbourhood of Brunswick Heights, should definitely be on your Halifax sushi hit-list!

Way2Roll is a whole new way to enjoy sushi! Blending Japanese and Mexican cuisines, this takeout-style location serves freshly made sushi burritos.
Just choose your base (Roll or Bowl), decide the size (Regular or Mini), pick from any of their signature styles and ENJOY! Everything is made to order so it’s as fresh as it gets.
480 Parkland Dr. – Bedford-Sackville Area
This restaurant is perfect for any die-hard sushi-lover. The atmosphere is very authentically-Japanese, and guests feel warmly welcomed by the staff.

The Sushi Nami location on Queen Street is actually one of 5 Sushi Nami locations in Atlantic Canada. After 12 years in business, this Halifax sushi-staple is the perfect option for anyone trying sushi for the first time! The food is consistently delicious and the staff are very helpful.

7 – Sushi Shige Japanese Restaurant
1532 Granville St – Downtown Halifax
Conveniently located right downtown, Sushi Shige offers excellent service, fresh ingredients and a great variety. Order one of the many options from the menu or go for the chef’s selection Omakase dinner.
No matter what you choose, this casual Japanese restaurant is sure to satisfy those sushi cravings!

8 – Genji Sushi

All you can eat sushi. Need we say more?
Genji Sushi is the one of Halifax’s few all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants and there is PLENTY to choose from. Go in with an empty stomach and steely resolution – you’re not going to want to give up on the delicious sashimi, sushi rolls and spicy shrimp!
