Hidden beneath one of Halifax’s oldest microbreweries, this spot brings retro gaming and craft brewing together for a nostalgic, neon-lit experience.
What to See and Do
Propeller Arcade is located in the basement of Propeller Brewing’s original Gottingen Street location, once holding fermentation tanks and bottling lines. Today, after a major cleanup and the vision of arcade-loving team member Ian Matheson, it’s transformed into a playful mix of retro machines, glowing lights, and beer.
With a mashup of vintage gaming culture and craft beer, it’s one of Halifax’s most unique entertainment spots. Expect a lively mix of pinball, old-school arcade favourites, racing games, shooters, and ticket machines. Machines rotate regularly, so there’s always something new to try. Groups gather to compete, couples come for quirky date nights, and families fill the space during daytime hours when the arcade leans more “fun zone” than “bar.” In the evening, it shifts into an adults-only playground with a buzzy, social crowd, and a back patio that serves as a quiet spot to enjoy a drink between rounds.
