Dine Around is back with the perfect excuse to give your kitchen a break. Sip and savour your way around Halifax this month while your favourite local restaurants offer special prix-fixe menus priced at $10, $20, $30, $40, or $50. With 100+ participating restaurants, the hardest part will be sampling every menu you want to try in just 28 days.

2. Check out a Valentine's Day event

Who said Valentine's Day is all about dinner? While there's nothing wrong with going the traditional route, there is a case to be made for having another activity on the menu for the occasion. 6. Eat your weight in poutine at the Big Poutine Fest

The Big Poutine Fest returns to Halifax from February 1-15 and it's the perfect opportunity to indulge a little (or a lot). From loaded lobster to duck confit, local restaurants are crafting up decadent offerings that can't be missed. Every time you sample a poutine, a donation will be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters in the local community. You’ll also get a chance at some great prizes.  

7. Learn about and commemorate the roots, history, family traditions, and narratives of people of African descent during African Heritage Month

Nova Scotia has 52 historic African Nova Scotian communities with a long, deep and complex history dating back over 200 years. African Heritage Month is another opportunity to celebrate the culture, legacy, achievements and contributions of people of African descent – past and present.

Celebrate the rich culture of people of African descent by attending events, participating in local activities, and supporting Black-owned businesses throughout the month of February and beyond.

Hidden in the basement of Propeller Brewing Co. is a retro arcade, featuring a rotating cast of pinball and arcade machines, as well as 12 taps of Propeller craft beer.
