Celebrate the flow of new and improvised music from a variety of genres across a number of charming Halifax venues during this week-long festival. Grab a festival pass for access to all shows, or purchase tickets for individual concerts.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly outing that’ll keep your spirits high all winter, get cozy at the Marquee Ballroom for Rankin’s Winter Warmers, happening every Saturday afternoon until March 14. These high-energy shows sell out quick, but offer a small amount of tickets at the door worth lining up for. Children are always welcome, with reserved tickets held at the door for half the price, making it the ultimate family weekend outing ritual.

2. Score one-of-a-kind finds at a vintage market

The South End Vintage Market is kicking off 2026 with a trove of treasures to set the tone for the New Year. There’s a $2 entry fee, with free entry for children ages 12 and under.

3. Get your sports fix

The Halifax Mooseheads and Halifax Thunderbirds are bringing tons of energy to the Scotiabank Centre this month, perfect for all ages to enjoy.

If you’re looking for some heart-pumping action, be sure to grab tickets to the PWHL Takeover Tour, where Ottawa Charge and Boston Fleet will battle it out on the ice on January 11. Before the puck drops, the party begins – head to Gate D at the Scotiabank Centre for the PWHL Welcome Tunnel and cheer on the on the Ottawa Charge and Boston Fleet as they arrive. Bring your signs, bring the noise, and show the league the kind of energy Halifax is known for.

Downtown Dartmouth will transform into a magical winter wonderland as the streets fill with whimsical ice sculptures from January 30 to February 1 during the East Coast Credit Union Ice Festival.
