According to legend, Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. Today Saint Patrick’s name is more often associated with green beer and shamrocks. Around the world St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival thanks to the Irish diaspora!
Lucky for those of us spending Saturday March 17th in Halifax, there is SO MUCH going on that the only problem you’ll have is choosing where to celebrate!
