10 Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2019 in Halifax

St. Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland, and he sure knows how to throw a great party! On March 17th, Halifax will gather Irish and non-Irish folk alike for one of the biggest celebrations of the year.

With SO MUCH happening, you might not know where to find the best ceilidh – but fear not! We’ve found some of Halifax’s best St. Patrick’s Day hot spots that will immerse you in the mighty craic of Halifax from dawn ’til dusk.

1 – 12th Annual Halifax St. Patrick’s Day Parade

WHEN: Sunday, March 10, 2019 – 1pm-2pm
WHERE: Lower Water Street, Halifax

2019 marks the 12th anniversary of Halifax’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The parade begins on Terminal Road then travels along Lower Water Street through Irishtown ending at Historic Properties.

Bring your friends and family and don’t forget to wear your green!


2 – Durty Nelly’s Authentic Irish Pub

1645 Argyle Street, Halifax

» CELEBRATE AT DURTY NELLY’S: Sunday, March 17, 2019 – 7am-1am

Gear up for a big St. Patrick’s Day with Durty Nelly’s! The pub will open at 7am and will be offering FREE breakfast to anyone wearing their “7am Club” pin, which can be picked up at Durty Nelly’s or at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 10th.

No pin? No problem! Nelly’s Breakfast will be offered for $9, but we recommend the Full Irish Fry Up to fuel yourself up for the day. With a full music lineup, flowing beer, and great Irish food all day long, you’ll want to stay all day long.

4 – The Split Crow Pub

To prepare yourself for St. Patrick’s Day, we recommend checking out The Split Crow, a legendary pub known to all Haligonians.

Looking for some drink specials? Power Hour is the ticket – Coors Light and Molson Canadian 12oz beers are just $2.50 each, so fill your boots!

5 – The Old Triangle Irish Alehouse

If you’re not a morning person, that’s okay too – throughout the day and evening, there will be a feature menu of Irish classics, 10 different acts with 25 musicians, and complimentary face painting.
