March is here and in Halifax that means that one of the BEST weeks of the year is just around the corner. We’re counting down the days until The Coast’s 7th Annual Halifax Burger Week!
From March 28-April 3, 2019, take advantage of this city-wide burger eating celebration; get together with friends and try out a new restaurant or burger! Here are five reasons to chow down during Halifax Burger Week:
1 – So. Many. Options.
With more than 140 participating restaurants, we have no doubt that you’ll find a burger that fits your taste and appetite!
Chefs from around the city come up with some really interesting combinations of flavours, and often the Burger Week specials are one-time-only offers that aren’t normally on the menu. That means that if there’s a burger you REALLY want to try one, don’t wait, just go!
2 – You’ll support local families in need WHILE consuming delicious burgers.
Burger Week is not only a chance to support local business owners, it’s a chance to contribute to the community in a big way!
Filter the Burger Lineup for Feed NS Burgers, as a portion of each sale goes to Feed Nova Scotia! Not to mention the fact that Moosehead Breweries has committed to donating 50 cents to Feed Nova Scotia for every paired beer sold during Halifax Burger Week 2019!
Just look for the little beer icon on your passport (or search on the Burger Week website) to know which restaurants are offering featured Moosehead beer pairings with their burgers!
3 – It’s accessible to ANYONE! (hello vegans, there are options for you!)
Given the seemingly endless choices, there’s surely a burger to fit any price point and dietary preference. They’ve really covered the gamut from vegan burgs, to gluten free options, to burgers made with local ingredients and more! There’s even a list of dairy-free burgers for patty-lovers who’s bellies do not love the cheese.
There are also plenty of $6 specials, so this event is truly accessible to any budget. Just dig through those couch cushions for a few coins and you’ve got yourself a filling and flavourful dinner!
4 – You could WIN Beer for a Year!
Make sure you pick up a 2019 Burger Week Passport and get it stamped or signed at each restaurant you visit – this isn’t just a way to track your journey, but also a ticket to awesome prizes!
If you get 3 or more Burger Week stamps from any of the 140+ participating restaurants and put your passport into a ballot box, you will be entered to win Beer for a Year from Moosehead Breweries. As if you need an excuse to eat more burgers!
Passports will be available in Burger Week restaurants prior to the beginning of Burger Week on March 28. You’ll also be able to download the passports here.

5 – WIN the VIP Treatment in the #MINIBurger
While walking or driving between restaurants, keep your eyes open for the #MINIBurger (aka a burgered-out MINI Countryman S AII4 from MINI Halifax).
The Coast will be running a contest to win door-to-door service to your favourite Burger Week restaurant in the #MINIBurger!
To Win: Just spot the MINI, snap a photo and tag it with #BurgerValet on Instagram or Twitter. The Burger Week team will draw a total of seven winners – one per day – during Burger Week, March 28-April 3.
