New Hotels and SilverBirch Conference Centre in Halifax!

In January 2012 SilverBirch Hotels and Resorts closed the doors to the old Citadel Hotel. It had been a fixture of the Halifax downtown core for over 50 years. Thousands had called it a home away from home but the hotel was past her prime and it was time to move on.

After careful consideration SilverBirch Hotels and Resorts decided to partner with Hilton Hotels to shift the Halifax Skyline and build two brand new beautiful hotels – the first Dual Brand hotel east of Toronto and Hilton’s 100th hotel in Canada.

Today, the Homewood Suites by Hilton® Halifax-Downtown and the Hampton Inn by Hilton™ Halifax-Downtown now stand where the old Citadel used to be.

When you check into the Homewood Suites you will find yourself at home in one of our 135 studio, one bedroom and two bedroom suites, each suite featuring full kitchens with 5 appliances, contemporary furnishings and 42” flat screen TVs. This innovative concept is the result of extensive research and careful consideration of feedback provided by our clients.
