This unique trail is one of the most popular in the region, and it’s easy to see why; with its flat, easy terrain atop causeways and bridges that span Atlantic waters and shallow wetlands, walking along the Salt Marsh Trail makes you feel like you’re walking on water!
The Salt Marsh Trail is located on the old Musquodoboit rail bed, crossing wetlands via a long causeway and four bridges! Formerly part of the Trans Atlantic Railway, this multi-use trail is perfect for dog walkers, cyclists, and any outdoor enthusiasts looking for flat, easy terrain.
The trail is well-marked and maintained with interesting interpretive signs on the history and natural features of the area. With plenty of benches along the way to sit and enjoy the scenery, it’s easy to see why the Salt Marsh Trail is one of the best bird-watching destinations in the region.
