Alderney Landing’s Bluenose Ghosts Festival & Fear the Darkness Haunted House

Bigger, better, and scarier than ever! This year’s Fear the Darkness Haunted House theme is “Die Happily Every After!”

Not interested in a haunted house? There’s something for everyone at the Bluenose Ghosts Festival, including an escape room, photo booth, Buried Alive casket ride, free selfie haunted park, food, entertainment, and more!

Where: Atlantic Splash Adventure – 1200 Lucasville Rd., Hammonds Plains, NS
Admission: $12 for one haunt or $20 for both. Tickets are available at the gate. A non-perishable food item to support Feed Nova Scotia will get you $2 off the double haunt price.

Harvest Moon Festival 2018

When: October 13-27, 2018 – 11am-2pm
Where: Historic Properties – 1869 Upper Water Street, Downtown Halifax

Every weekend in October will have something fun and festive for you at Historic Properties.

The Historic Properties Courtyard will be completely transformed into a country farm in the fall. The Courtyard and Market will be fully dressed in the splendour of fall colours. Come and sit on the giant cornucopia apple barrel and take a selfie, enjoy apple cider at Grounded Café and come back at night to see the amazing artistic installations in the courtyard for Nocturne on October 13th.

Great Pumpkin Art Contest

Pumpkin Art Contest dates:
Friday, October 19 – 9am-5pm
Saturday, October 20 – 9am-9pm
Sunday, October 21 – 12pm-5pm

Where: Historic Properties – 1869 Upper Water Street, Downtown Halifax
Admission: FREE

The Great Pumpkin Art Contest will take over the Historic Properties Mall starting October 19 until October 21, 2018, with stunning Halloween pumpkins elaborately decorated by NSCAD and NSCC Culinary Arts students. The winner will receive $1,000 from Historic Properties and the runner up, $500 from Develop Nova Scotia.

Come on down to see the impressive display and vote for your favorite, from Friday, October 19 until Sunday, October 21, 2018.
