TD Halifax Jazz Festival: Avery Dakin & Caribou Run

Loading Events

August 12

Avery Dakin is a singer-songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia who combines her smart, reflective lyrical style with silky, soulful vocals. Her music is both lively and dreamy, with shimmering keyboards and plucky grooves as a backdrop to Dakin’s raw, earnest performance.

After obtaining a degree in Music composition from Acadia University, Avery quickly felt drawn to songwriting, performing, and collaborating in Halifax after being inspired by local pop, jazz, funk, and soul shows. She cut her teeth singing and playing keyboard in Halifax’s first live karaoke band, and is now involved in many musical projects, including leading a band under her own name.

Caribou Run is a 6-piece neofolk band based in Mahone Bay NS. Their songs are catchy and anthemic with lyrics that provoke emotion and thought in the listener. Their live performance is a dynamic experience that is a roller coaster of sing-alongs and foot stomps.

The Community Virtual Series is Presented by Support 4 Culture – Join us on our YouTube channel for this Free performance.
