The Watch That Ends the Night, named after a 1958 Canadian novel by Hugh MacLennan, is a Canadian restaurant and an intimate cocktail & wine bar with an ambitious and ever-evolving menu. Our kitchen is led by Chef Janie Bogardus, forging a naturally Canadian terroir driven cuisine.
Overlooking the harbour and Halifax skyline, this mid-century room pushes the envelope of cocktail culture in a relaxed and unassuming atmosphere. We specialize in house-cured meats, fermented produce, inventive seafood, and an extensive back bar of sipping rums to compliment our highly curated wine, beer, scotch, cognac, and bourbon offerings.
The free-flowing nature of the space allows you to come alone with a book or to meet friends new and old as they arrive, with half lounge seating and half dinner seating.
