Il Trullo Ristorante is a unique, warm and inviting Italian restaurant. From its dramatic setting on the edge of Halifax Harbour in King’s Wharf, Il Trullo delivers something unusual for Dartmouth: authentic Italian food with a southern flair.
The inspiration for the food and décor comes from two of the owners that are true Italians and have grown up knowing the true pleasures of great Italian southern cooking. When you have experienced eating great food in Italy, you must share it with everyone. It’s our food, wine and vibrant combined atmosphere that really sets the restaurant apart. The design of the restaurant was based on the natural elements of a Trullo with ceiling domes, natural stone look and wood elements for a cozy contemporary feel. Products were carefully chosen to create the design and keeping them sustainable by providing local and recycled elements. By taking advantage of the great Dartmouth water views, we have created a space that you can enjoy create water views from any seating.
The menu was carefully designed to bring in traditional southern Italian food with a modern flare. Our pastas and focaccia bread are all made in house daily. Our pizzas are thin crust and incorporate traditional Italian recipes made with local ingredients. We also make our own sausages that we use for our pizza and many other dishes. Just like southerly Italy, we incorporate local seafood into our menu.
One thing that we strive for is the experience and when you are with us you’re family. That’s the Southern Italian way.
