L’Acadie de Chezzetcook, Museum, Tearoom, Giftshop
The historic site of Canada in Chezzetcook represents the history of the Acadians of Chezzetcook. The site includes the Acadian House Museum, the Barn, the Welcome center and Gallery, the Cabano and the Tea Room (the restaurant La Cuisine de Brigitte), which showcases various exhibitions and demonstrations. New this year to our site is our Community Hertiage Garden, located in front of the Cabano/besides the Acadian House Museum.
The museum is dedicated to the lifestyle of our Acadian ancestors. Established after the Deportation of 1755, the villages of West Chezzetcook and Grand Desert prospered through the exploitation of fisheries, several farms and small family business.
Located on the historic site of Acadie de Chezzetcook, the museum and other buildings are representative of life in Chezzetcook as it existed there a hundred years. You will find an interesting collection of genealogies of Acadian families of the region.
