It’s a Wonderful Life

Beloved Christmas classic, It’s a Wonderful Life is coming to Neptune Theatre this holiday season.  The production will run from November 21-December 31.

A Christmas Carol

Another timeless holiday show, the Eastern Front Theatre‘s production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will be running from November 28 through to December 24 at Neptune Theatre.

Where to Stay
Channel the classic feel of A Christmas Carol’s old England with a stay at the beautiful Halliburton Inn.

Continue on the old-timey European theme with dinner and a pint at Durty Nelly’s authentic Irish pub.

The Advent Show

November 30 – December 2, 2017

A Christmas show with heart, the annual Advent Show is produced in support of local charities and has impacted the lives of over 2000 people in need over the years.

This lively show features Christmas music in a variety of genres including pop, gospel, classical, and folk and showcases local singers, dancers, and musicians.

Enjoy a night at the Atlantica Hotel, located just across the Halifax Commons from the Spatz Theater.

Stop in for a bite at Field Guide and enjoy their delicious menu, which focuses on local foods and craft beers.

Ben Caplan’s Holiday Classics

The Nutcracker

December 8-17, 2017

Is it really Christmas without The Nutcracker?   This holiday tradition, presented by Symphony Nova Scotia, will be held at the Rebecca Cohn from December 8-17.

Where to Stay
A night at the ballet calls for glitzy accommodations, and a stay at the lovely Prince George Hotel is the perfect fit.

Where to Eat
If thoughts of the Sugar Plum Fairy are enough to activate your sweet tooth, make a visit to Le French Fix Patisserie before the show to stock up on their delicious, sugary macaroons.

The Nutcracker is filled with sparkle and great costumes, and a new dress from Sweet Pea Boutique will have you feeling as fancy as the ballerinas on stage.

A Rat Pack Christmas

Geordie Brown and Heather Rankin bring this Christmas themed musical to the Spatz Theater on December 16, featuring music by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.

Where to Stay
Book a room at the new Hampton Inn for a great stay near the theater.

Where to Eat
Grab a bite at EDNA before the show, located just a short walk from the theater.  If you’re going to the early show, check out their wildly popular brunch menu, or go for a later dinner if you’re taking in the evening show.

A King’s Christmas

Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the King’s University choir performs their annual show on December 17.  The Chronicle Herald calls it “annual magic,” and plenty of locals look forward to this annual tradition, as this show is not to be missed!

Spend the night at one of Halifax’s premier hotels, the Lord Nelson, located just a block away from the cathedral.

Where to Eat
Round out a fabulous evening of music with a fabulous dinner at one of the city’s most renowned restaurants, The Press Gang.
