Canada Day at the Halifax Citadel

When: Sunday, July 1, 2018 – 9am-5pm
Where: Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, 5425 Sackville St, Halifax

Celebrate Canada’s 151st Birthday on Citadel Hill! Celebrations will kick off with the firing of the iconic noon gun followed by the traditional 21-gun salute. Enjoy music, 78th Highlander military performances, presentations and the official Canada Day cake served by a 78th Highlander.


HALIFAX

Canada Day Kitchen Party

When: Sunday, July 1, 2018 – 9am-3pm
Where: Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market, 1209 Marginal Rd, Halifax

This year, the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market is thrilled to have Joe Murphy and the Water Street Blues Band and Shrimp Daddy & the Sharpshooters providing outdoor entertainment on the big stage.

You’ll also find bouncy castles, a petting zoo, Hatfield Farm horse and carriage rides, and live entertainment outside of Pavilion 20.

Dominion Day “Old Time” Village Fair

The SkyHawks Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team performs on the Halifax Commons

When: Sunday, July 1, 2018 – 11am-12pm
Where: Emera Oval, Halifax Common, 5775 Cogswell St, Halifax

The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, The SkyHawks, is Canada’s only military parachute demonstration team. For over 40 years, they have represented Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces to over 75 million spectators worldwide under their signature Canadian flag parachutes.

Bringing their parachutes in close proximity to build formations in the sky, the team puts on a spectacular show. Come see this aerial display above the Emera Oval at the Halifax Commons this Canada Day! Learn more.

Canada Day Family Fun Fest

The Canada Day Family Fun Fest is the largest family celebration of Canada’s Birthday in Atlantic Canada and for the first time, they will have the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, The Skyhawks, preforming their close-proximity sky formations for a spectacular show of skill and courage!

Juno nominated Allan Rayman makes his Atlantic Canadian debut along with Dartmouth favourite, Mo Kenney and they are ready to rock the stage! The day wraps up with the iconic fireworks show over the Halifax Harbour, but the night is just getting started… Skratch Bastid, Canadian DJ legend is back in Halifax with his unreal energy, playing whatever it takes to keep the crowd pumped up and moving late into the night.

The spectacular annual Canada Day firework show is back on the Dartmouth Waterfront!

The best viewing area is from the concert crowd at Alderney Landing or if you don’t want to be in the concert area, bring your chairs or blankets to the green space along Ferry Terminal Park.
