Comedy fans are in for a treat as Halifax is gearing up to welcome some of the biggest names in comedy! Get ready to get your laugh on with these big names, accompanied by even bigger laughs, right here in Halifax.


1 – Chelsea Handler | October 7, 2018 @ 8pm

When: Sunday, October 7, 2018 – 8pm-10pm
Where: Rebecca Cohn Auditorium – 6101 University Avenue, Halifax

What: In A Civilized Conversation with Chelsea Handler, outspoken funny-girl turned political activist, Chelsea Handler is coming to Halifax as a part of her Canadian tour.

On the eve of the legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada, Handler has teamed up with Civilized publisher David Riedle to present a real conversation about culture, social issues and politics in our country. This event is going to be run town-hall style and will include the opportunity for the audience to get up and be a part of the conversation.

Where you’ve seen her: You may recognize her from her long-running late night show, Chelsea Lately, or more recently, her Netflix original documentary, Chelsea Does, and comedy talk show, Chelsea.

 

 


2 – Trevor Noah | November 2, 2018 @ 7:30pm

When: Friday, November 2, 2018 – 7:30pm–9pm
Where:
Scotiabank Centre – 1800 Argyle Street, Halifax

What: If you are a fan of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, get ready to see its host up close and personal! Join Trevor Noah for a night of stand-up at the Scotiabank Centre in downtown Halifax this fall.

Where you’ve seen him: Most recognizable as the current host of The Daily Show, Noah was also the first South African comedian to appear on both The Tonight Show and The Late Show with David Letterman. In addition to being on the air he is also a New York Times Bestselling author for his book Born a Crime.

 


3 – Ken Jeong | November 29, 2018 @ 8pm

When: Thursday, November 29, 2018 – 8pm-10pm
Where Casino Nova Scotia’s Schooner Room – 1983 Upper Water Street, Halifax

What: A night with one of Hollywood’s funniest real life doctor-turned-comedian! Ken Jeong, also known as “Mr. Chow”, also known as Dr.Ken, is bringing his stand-up show to Halifax and it’s going to be an night to remember!

Where you’ve seen him: You probably know him as Mr. Chow from The Hangover film series, or Ben Chang from Community. Most recently Jeong wrote, starred in, and produced the ABC comedy Dr. Ken.

 


4 – John Cleese | May 5, 2019 @ 7:30pm

When: Sunday, May 5, 2019 – 7:30pm-10:30pm
Where: Scotiabank Centre – 1800 Argyle Street, Halifax

What: Why there is no hope: In a show described as comedy-meets-TED Talks, legendary comedian John Cleese is bringing his show across the pond to share a mixture of humour and political insight.

Where you’ve seen him: Most known for his part in the British comedy troupe, Monty Python, which produced the long-running television show of the same name as well as four well-known movies. You may recognize him from his part in Fawlty Towers or A Fish Called Wanda.
